Greetings and a warm welcome from the Maiden Farmer!
We are a female run farm in Northern New Jersey growing heirloom crops without use of pesticides and raising heritage breeds on our 70 acre farm. Our operation uses sustainable farming methods to raise nutrient rich, savory produce year-round to share with our community. We marvel each year as we painstakingly plant tiny seeds in the frosty spring, and watch with delight as the warm sun and nourishing soil work their magic, producing an abundance of delights by late spring. This mission was borne from love of the land, careful planning and a lot of sweat. We take pride in the produce we grow and feed our young growing families. You can be assured that your produce is sowed with love and harvested with care and passion.
We want to share this experience with our community, young and old. We are offering a CSA to enable our neighbors to share in the delights of the harvest, but more importantly, to be able to visit our working farm and experience the growing process. Our vision is to expand into a diverse stable of heritage livestock, including various poultry, goats, sheep and pigs. We celebrate Mother Earth and her abundance, while respecting the realities of her unpredictability (especially as of late).
Willow Creek Farm, the home of The Maiden Farmer, is a family farm in the bucolic hamlet of Bedminster. The property has been a horse and hay farm for the past 20 years, but historically it was a Dutch dairy farm owned by the Cowperthwaite family. We have rich soils, shady woodland and nutrient-rich riparian banks. With the help of our farmer, Heather, we are transforming the farm to its historical splendor, growing heirloom crops and raising heritage poultry and livestock. We practice sustainable means of growing crops, enriching the soil naturally, completely without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or any yucky stuff.
